Script to Screen: Jan Komasa’s ‘Heel’ Arrives in Cinemas
Note: This project was completed by Jessica Moran under our previous brand, Film & TV Clearances. We are proud to continue supporting award-winning talent as The Media Rights Collective.
Following its acclaimed world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and a standout presentation at the BFI London Film Festival, Jan Komasa’s English-language debut, Heel has officially arrived in cinemas to widespread critical praise.
Produced by Jeremy Thomas at Recorded Picture Company, the film is a taut psychological thriller starring Stephen Graham, Andrea Riseborough, and Anson Boon. The narrative follows a couple who abduct a young delinquent in a provocative, high-stakes attempt at rehabilitation—a project that has already earned Anson Boon a Best Actor win at the Rome Film Festival and Best Feature Film at the Valladolid International Film Festival in 2025.
At The Media Rights Collective, we were pleased to provide the Script and Production Clearance for this production.
Working alongside the legendary team at Recorded Picture Company, our role was to ensure a robust legal foundation for the film’s distinctive and uncompromising narrative. By clearing the path from the early script stages, we helped provide the creative team with the certainty needed to execute Jan Komasa’s visceral vision for the global stage.
Heel (Good Boy) is distributed in the UK and Ireland by Signature Entertainment and in the US by Magnolia Pictures.
Congratulations to Jeremy Thomas, Jan Komasa, and the entire production team.
